Project overview
Westpoint Harbor in Redwood City, California, was the first new private marina on San Francisco Bay in decades. Owner Mark Sanders excavated a 26-acre basin – the 600,000 cubic yards of mud formed 24 acres of uplands – and chose Bellingham Marine concrete docks for a marina designed from the boater’s point of view. It opened in part in 2008.
- Berths from 36 to 120 feet.
- Single-piece finger piers up to 55 ft long with rounded ends, so they don’t twist or sag and are easier to dock against.
- Internal round piles with HDPE ring guides under the deck – no external pile guides, and the rings keep piles free of mussels.
- Wood-stained glu-lam walers instead of standard pressure-treated timber.
