Keppel Land International (Keppel Land) and Bellingham Marine Industries (Bellingham) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enter into a strategic partnership where Bellingham will design and construct premier marinas within Keppel Land’s waterfront properties in the region, where appropriate.

Under the agreement, Bellingham will provide Keppel Land with design, project management and construction expertise for world-class marinas, the first being Marina at Keppel Bay, located within the Keppel Bay precinct.

Said Mr Kevin Wong, Group CEO of Keppel Land, “Waterfront living has become a growing lifestyle trend worldwide, drawing both homeowners and investors. “At Keppel Bay, we are raising the bar to convert this prime and valuable real estate into a world-class waterfront development. We will continue to build value and premium into Keppel Bay by bringing together some of the finest names and brands in the industry to lend their signature quality to our developments at Keppel Bay.

“We are confident that Bellingham, with its proven track record in the design and construction of marinas, will enhance our overall master plan for our developments at Keppel Bay as well as our other waterfront developments in Asia.”

Marina at Keppel Bay features state-of-the-art modern concrete floating berths with capacity for 170 yachts, including mega-yachts of up to 250 feet. The berths will be constructed over two phases, with 75 berths in phase one constructed at a cost of approximately $9 million. Marina at Keppel Bay is the first marina in the region to have a reticulated vacuum sewer pump-out system.

Said Mr J. Everett Babbitt, President of Bellingham Marina, “Bellingham has been in the business of designing and constructing marinas for 50 years. We are pleased to partner Keppel Land as they realize their vision of developing world-class waterfront properties developments featuring premier marinas.

“We are confident that Marina at Keppel Bay is poised to be one of the finest marinas in Asia, if not the premium marina in the region.”

Marina at Keppel Bay is linked to the mainland via another Keppel Bay landmark – a new cable-stayed bridge, Keppel Bay Bridge, which was named and opened by His Excellency S R Nathan, President of Singapore on 3 January 2008.

Marina at Keppel Bay will complement and add value to the lifestyle aspirations for the sophisticated and discerning owners of waterfront residences at Keppel Bay. All homeowners of Keppel Bay enjoy 10 years of free membership and 5 years free subscription at the Marina where exclusive amenities and facilities include a clubhouse with a member’s lounge, fine restaurants and leisure charter services to access neighboring islands.

Keppel Bay is the only residential development in Singapore to have its very own world-class marina on its very own private island, Keppel Island.
