Description

Elizabeth Bay Marina is located in Elizabeth Bay, NSW, near the popular Beare Park. The marina has existed for over 100 years and is a popular place for boaters, kayakers, residents and tourists visiting the area. When the wood pontoons began to fail, Bellingham Marine was hired to replace them.

The new facility has 13 berths, ranging in size from 12 to 15 metres. There are also 47 swing moorings surrounding the marina as well as a 4 metre wide skirted wave attenuator to protect the site.

Project overview

Elizabeth Bay Marina is a century-old community marina in a harbourside suburb of Sydney, Australia. Its wood pontoons were in disrepair, and the NSW government commissioned a rebuild. Residents did not want a large superyacht marina, so Bellingham Marine Australia worked with the authorities on a layout that kept the marina’s small scale.

  • The marina grew from 9 to just 13 berths, from 12 to 15 metres.
  • 47 swing moorings surround the marina.
  • A 4-metre-wide skirted wave attenuator protects the site.
  • It reopened in 2018.
