Description

Found in the beach town of St. Kilda, a suburb of Melbourne, the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron sits in the same place it has for over a century.

The marina, while best known for its yacht races, is also quite popular for its renowned Sailing Academy. Visitors of all ages and experience levels can learn to love the water at this conveniently located marina.

Project overview

The Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron (RMYS) at St Kilda Harbour, Melbourne, has a 140-year history. In February 2013 the club contracted Bellingham Marine Australia to build a new 250-berth floating marina to replace its dilapidated timber marina; it opened on 2 February 2014.

250 berths for boats from 10 m to 23 m, connected by more than 1 km of floating concrete walkways.
A new Bellingham Marine Australia wave attenuator, alongside breakwater extensions by Fitzgerald Constructions.
The result of more than ten years of work with state and local agencies on a safer boating harbour.
