Project overview
Wrightsville Beach Marina and Yacht Club in North Carolina renovated its 100-slip marina on the busy Intracoastal Waterway with Bellingham Marine. The site needed wave protection from heavy boat traffic, room for large yachts and a solution for shallow water along the seawall – and the owners liked the look of timber docks.
- A hybrid dock system: concrete for the exterior dock and interior main walks to knock down wakes, timber for all finger piers.
- The walkway along the seawall was built in timber, whose shallow 6-inch draft avoids grounding in extreme low tides.
- Completed in 2017.
