The fully remodeled marina received the finishing touches in 2013 when the expanded inner basin was completed. With permanent and visitor berths for vessels from 8 to 35+ metres, 2.1 metre wide Unifloat walkways and full length, single piece fingers, Picton Marina really is a world-class marina.
Project overview
Picton Marina sits on the northern tip of New Zealand’s South Island. Marlborough Sounds Marinas contracted Bellingham Marine New Zealand for a four-stage expansion and upgrade of the inner basin; Stage 1 was completed in 2009 and Stage 2 in November 2012.
- Stage 2: 40 new berths on jetties 7, 8 and 9 for vessels 12–16 m long.
- Concrete pontoons with 2.1 m wide walkways, full-length single-piece fingers and 400 mm freeboard.
- Town water and 230 V single-phase power at every berth.
