Project overview
Flagship Cruises’ floating terminal sits next to Broadway Pier in downtown San Diego, California, and opened in October 2012 as part of the Port of San Diego’s North Embarcadero Visionary Plan. The design had to handle wave exposure, large vessels and heavy foot traffic.
- A U-shaped floating terminal of oversized concrete docks with steel walers.
- A floating storage building built on the docks.
- Extra-wide clear walkways for crowds and covered gangways with LED rope lighting.
- Power, water and pump-out connections concealed below deck to keep walkways clear.
